Paulo Avelino Admits Coco Martin is His star

“Walang Hanggan” lead star Paulo Avelino was recently named Best Actor by the 35th Gawad Urian for his remarkable performance in the indie film “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa.” The same movie gave him his first acting award, the Best Supporting Actor trophy from the 2012 PASADO Awards.

“Winning an ‘Urian’ is indeed a huge milestone,” he said. “It has always been a dream to be recognized by such a prestigious award-giving body, but I never thought that God will give me this blessing this early. That is why I am very thankful to Him.”

As TV viewers continue to praise Paulo’s ability as an actor, critics cannot help but compare him with fellow award-winning actor and “Walang Hanggan” co-star Coco Martin. Paulo said that to be likened with Coco is an honor for him. “Coco is one of the greatest actors today; and he will always be one of the artists that I idolize,” he shared.

Unlike the rivalry of their characters in the drama series, Paulo revealed that he and Coco have a good relationship off-cam. He shared, “Coco is great to work with. He is always ready to help his co-actors during our tapings so we’ll have better scenes.” Meanwhile, like the blossoming showbiz career of Paulo, the story of “Walang Hanggan” continues to get even more exciting now that Daniel (Coco) is accused to be the mastermind of Jane’s (Rita Avila) death. Will the accusation worsen Nathan’s (Paulo) rage against his brother? How will Nathan’s relationship with Katerina (Julia Montes) be affected when he finds out that his wife is helping his mortal enemy?

Quizon also asked for prayers for his father's recovery.

Dad is critical at the moment. I hope you understand if I can't talk right now. Will update you later. We need your prayers," he texted.

Dolphy was rushed to the Makati Medical Center on June 9 due to pneumonia.

Leonardo DiCaprio GQ Magazine October 2011 Issue!

Leonardo DiCaprio is on the cover of GQ Magazine’s October 2011 issue where he talks about gay marriage, movie he’s proud of, and his new film “J. Edgar.”

Here’s what the 36-year-old superstar had to share with the mag:
On gay marriage:
“That’s the most infuriating thing–watching people focus on these things. Meanwhile, there’s the onset of global warming and these incredibly scary and menacing things with the future of our economy.”
On if he has any interest in directing:
“Yeah, I do. And if I did direct, I would try to have the same no-bulls— approach to it as [Clint Eastwood] and his crew have. Seriously, there are no frills on his set. It’s a small, tight-knit crew.”
On which movie he’s proud of:
“The Aviator. I’d wanted to play Howard Hughes for 10 years and was around for multiple rewrites. Michael Mann was on it at one point. And finally [Martin] Scorsese got involved. I was very proud of that movie. It was the first film where I felt inherently like a partner.”
On a movie he originally passed on, then changed his mind:
“My father has always been a huge force with me. I had passed on a script about the French poet Arthur Rimbaud [Total Eclipse]. He explained to me that Rimbaud was the James Dean of his time … I did the movie, and I loved playing him. If I just waited for moments of ‘I have to do this,’ I would do a movie only every four or five years.”
