Korean pop star Rain outranks Barack and Michelle Obama in TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Infuential Poll 2011


Korean actor-singer Rain has been voted the most influential person in the world in an online poll conducted by TIME Magazine.

Rain ranked first in the voting for this year’s 100 Most Influential People while Taiwan’s Jay Chou and Britain’s Got Talent winner Susan Boyle took second and third place respectively.

Rain received the highest number of votes out of the 204 candidates with 439,251 people voting for him. Jay Chou, a Taiwanese director-singer-songwriter, received 229,442 votes and Susan Boyle, a Scottish singer, received 167,711 votes.

Rain has outranked some of the most well-known figures in the world such as TIME magazine The Person of the Year 2010 and creator of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg who ranked 28th, Michelle Obama, the first lady of the U.S., who placed at no. 32, U.S. President Barack Obama who is in 46th spot and Oprah Winfrey, a famous TV show host, who ranked 84th.

Rain is consistently in the list of TIME Magazine 100 Most Influential People for six straight years since 2006.
